Egyptian clover is a great foraging plant with high nutritional value. It develops quickly, re-sprouts very promptly, and adapts well to temperate-hot climates. It resists well to soil salinity and alkalinity, adapting to all types of soil. Thanks to its tap-rooting system full of tubercles, Egyptian clover is a soil improving plants, particularly effective when planted before wheat.

Very few things can damage this plant. Among these are mildew, fusarium, rust, and sclerotium. In general, the containment and the control of pathogens is based on indirect methods, like the selection of the variety and the care of the seed bed.

For the preparation of the seed bed, a good preparation, also superficial, is sufficient. After working, the soil must be brought to a fine texture, to provide a good basis for its establishment.

Sowing is carried out on bare soil, although unbroken soil is also being tested, and is both mechanical or by scattering, at a depth of approximately 1.5-2 cm. After sowing, the soil is rolled to compact the seeds with the soil.
The recommended seed ratio is 30-40 kg/ha.
Sowing can take place in autumn, in temperate areas, or in winter, in areas suffering cold winters.

Egyptian clover gives a product well appreciated by cattle, of good quality, and highly digestible. The forage obtained with Egyptian clover has similar nutritional values to those of alfalfa.
In dry conditions with autumn sowing, 2-3 crops may be obtained, with a production of approximately 40-60 ql./has of dry matter.
In well watered conditions with autumn sowing, 4-5 crops may be obtained, with a production of approximately 100-130 ql./ha of dry matter.
In well watered conditions with spring sowing, 3-4 crops may be obtained, with a production of approximately 70-100 ql./ha of dry matter.
